Bonsai Trees, Table Tennis, and Art: It’s what we call a weekend!

A crisp dry weekend is upon us. If you’re not busy feeding that sweet tooth at the Convention Center or watching a football game, the following adventures are yours for the taking:

Cartlandia takes on Portlandia: Bundle up and enjoy Portlandia the way it was meant to be seen, at a food cart next to a garden of beer. If you have yet to check out Cartlandia, you are missing out. The tent is heated, the bathrooms are indoors, and there is ample parking for your bike and your Subaru. It’s kind of a perfect storm.

Karaoke at The Eagle Eye starts at 9. We suggest you pop in for a tune or two, and as they say, “Bring down the house”.

The 5th Annual Houseplant Sale takes place at the Portland Nursery this weekend. They are offering 30% off all houseplants and decorative pots, in addition to classes. So if you are in need of some new life in your life, or you want to become a Bonsai enthusiast, this is a great opportunity. The sale starts on Friday and will run through Sunday.

imagesThe Saturday Night Slam mini tournament is happening at the Portland Table Tennis Club (79th & Foster- entrance in the back) at 6 pm. It is a round robin format with the top two players from each table advancing to the playoffs, and there’s prize money! Seriously, our neighborhood is wicked rad. And if that’s not enough excitement for you on a Saturday, you could always come out for FAN. Foster Art Night is back for a new year of art, specials, readings, and more. We are really excited about it. 2013 will be a mind-blowing year for Foster and Art, wait for it… In the meantime, you can find this Saturday’s complete line-up below.
