The future of FAN, fun stuff

Foster Art Night  needs your help in 2014. What began as a simple stroll down Foster road in 2012 has now become a night of neighbors making friends amid live music, libations, and art.

fanIn the great fashion of supporting one another and promoting our Foster district community, we have decided to take FAN up a notch in 2014. If you would like to assist in coordination, idea making, fundraising, and/or art making, we’d love to hear from you. Planning is underway now. The holiday is upon us. Folks are hanging up lights, cutting down trees, and spending money they probably don’t have all in dedication to the spirit of Christmas. While we wish our Portland business neighbors great success with the season ahead, we hope you will consider shopping locally on your holiday quest.  Gift cards from your favorite coffee shops, restaurants, bike and bottle shops are ready for your taking. In the meantime, we urge you to foster in the season with the following:

On Saturday check out Dennis’ 7 Dees for a chance to meet Santa, drink some coco, and meet a real live Rudolf. Hip Chicks do Wine will be onsite to hand out the vino alongside the folks at Pony Espresso . Santa is due to arrive at 12:00. Don’t be late.

On Sunday, join your neighbors on the mission to raise funds for the Wikman-Arleta Building Project and get some holiday shopping in while you’re at it.

Foster Review, and Looking Ahead

If Foster United were to mirror the energy and community effort in the Foster area, we’ll have accomplished our goal.  In our first week, that mirror might have reflected both ways.  While we had a lot of news and events to report, we also received a lot of good press and attention in return, making the efforts of Foster area residents that much more visible and recognized.  To you, fine folks of Foster, I say, “Kudos, keep up the good work.” (more…)
