Depaving Foster in 2013

logoDepave, the non-profit group dedicated to exposing the earth below the asphalt is coming to Foster neighborhoods in a big way in 2013.

Depave chooses their projects carefully  and we are lucky to get so much attention. Out of the six projects they are organizing this year, three of them are in the Foster area.

Depave-Sites

Arleta School (66th & Raymond)

This project aims to depave 3,000 square feet in order to add native gardens, trees and benches around the playground area. Design is in progress and fundraising is underway.

Portland Mercado (72nd & Foster)

We’re huge fans of this project, can’t wait to see it break ground. If they play their cards right, this will be a transformative project for the location, and Foster as a whole.

Pilgrim Lutheran Church (92st & Holgate)

This project will depave several portions of its property to create rain gardens and other storm water management elements.

Volunteers Wanted

Depave is a volunteer effort, and neighbors will be needed on all of these project to do the labor involved. The groups are finalizing designs and developing schedules, we’ll let you know as soon as the know when and where people are needed.
