Who are you?
I am a Naturopathic Doctor and a Portlander through and through. I grew up in the Foster-Powell neighborhood in a family where giving back to the community featured prominently in my upbringing. I am truly pleased that I can combine those values and a field of medicine I love, to bring top-notch health care to my neighbors.

What do you do?
As a Naturopathic Doctor, I am a Primary Care Physician seeing patients in my clinic in the Foster-Powell neighborhood. I bring individualized medical care to the area by spending the time necessary with my patients to understand their concerns, goals and health history so that together we can work to maximize their health, happiness and quality of life.

What is your inspiration? (Why do you do what you do?)
My inspiration is my past patients, with whom it has been an honor to work. Seeing others attain healthier, happier lives is the reason I come to work and give each patient my all.

What brought you and/or your business to this fine community?
I grew up in this neighborhood, and have always loved it. Being a part of the local movement to further the development of the neighborhood to a more independent locus of living and recreating- like a small town- was a major deciding factor in my clinic’s location.

3 ways to unite the Fine Folks of Foster and it’s neighboring communities:
1) Get out there! Attend events that are your style (big, small, music, art, food) and meet your neighbors! 2) Walk- to the store, to the restaurant, to the park. Pretty much all of us sit too much, so patronize your local establishments while getting a little activity. 3) Volunteer- the more the merrier. Find organizations whose activities and missions you like and help a good cause while meeting more folks in your community.

How do you envision the future of your neighborhood?
Growing and developing a strong commercial corridor which is hospitable to all forms of transportation, while keeping the unique slant that Foster area has created is and will continue to be a central focus of our region’s progress.

Some top fives to appease the list lovers Your Top 5 Songs to get you through a life?
I’m not much of a music buff, but here are some of my favorites: “Wild World” by Cat Stevens “French Fries with Pepper” or pretty much any song by Morphine “Dos Gardenias” by Buena Vista Social Club, but really any on their CD “Needle in the Hay” or any other on Elliot Smith’s self-titled CD Nirvana’s “Lake of Fire” cover is one of my favorites of theirs, but as grunge was ubiquitous in my youth, I have a soft spot for just about any Nirvana song.

Your Top 5 Haunts in Portland
1. Lion’s Eye, or now the new Eagle Eye for music, entertainment and as a great meeting place. 2. Foster Burger, for my gluten-free burger fix. 3. Gemini Lounge, for music, meeting friends and awesome ahi tuna Caesar salad. 4. Powell Seafood Restaurant for Chinese, or Lucky Strike for specifically Szechuan- if I want to drive up to Hawthorne. 5. Rudy’s Pizza, my favorite pizza place hands down. I can feed all my friends, no matter the diet restrictions (gluten free, vegetarian, vegan)- and everyone is happy.
